Over the past two decades, Tye W. Jackson has attained a rather unique and extensive background in law enforcement – he has served in the United States Army and under several local and federal branches of law enforcement. He is currently employed with the Mayfield Police Department in Mayfield, Kentucky as a K9 Handler. Jackson is also the Commander of the West Kentucky Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and the Director of Campus Safety at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield. A majority of his law enforcement career has been spent in the area of narcotics investigations, resulting in the successful prosecution of over 2,500 narcotic cases. Over the course of his career, he has been presented with a number of awards including Officer of the Year, Top Case Officer Award for two years in a row, and in 2008, Jackson was nominated for Narcotics Officer of the Year for the entire state of Kentucky. In 2011, Jackson was presented with the Award of Excellence from the Kentucky CIT Program for his initiative and efforts “Above and Beyond” in the mission of the Crisis Intervention Team Program. He also teaches several classes in the areas of Behavioral Science including Crisis Intervention, Hostage Negotiation, Criminal Interdiction, and Indicators of Deception. In addition to his teaching efforts, Jackson completed his certification as a sniper instructor in 2011.

Mr. Jackson is also the owner and CEO of Jackson K9 Professional Dog Training which trains fully functioning police dogs as well as personal protection and companion dogs. Jackson was the K9 Unit supervisor and Chief Trainer of the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force K9 Unit. Tye Jackson has trained dozens of fully functioning police dogs and specialized in "problem dogs." "Most dog problems are actually handler problems and are easily corrected," is one of Jackson's training philosophies.

Tye W. Jackson has been presented as an expert witness in Federal and State Courts in the areas of narcotics, crisis intervention, hostage negotiation, and canine matters.
